I think I’m getting soft in my old age because even though my usual go-to muses for Halloween pumpkin carvings have been creepy Batman villains….
…I was more in the mood for something a little more cute and snuggly this year:
In case you are not familiar with this little guy, it’s Happy Cat, the face of LOL Catz.
Isn’t he adorable?
I thought so, too.
Be it cute or creepy, if you’re looking to try your hand at a more detailed pumpkin carving this year, invest in a simple set of wood carving tools. You’ll be glad you did.

Find carving tools at any craft store or even Etsy. Cost is usually around $10.
But wait!
Don’t forget to save the pumpkin seeds!!
To achieve the lightest, crispiest roasted pumpkin seeds, do the following:
1. DO NOT rinse seeds! Remove any excess pumpkin guts, but that’s it.
2. Sprinkle seeds with a teaspoon of salt (I also like to add a dusting of turmeric and smoked paprika), spray generously with cooking spray and toss to coat.
2. Roast low and slow at 300 degrees for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour. Keep an eye on them, though–wouldn’t want them to burn!
HAPPY PUMPKIN CARVING TO ALL!!!!!!
AND TO ALL A GOOD FRIGHT…or not.

WOW, great pumpkin skills. It looks just like your inspiration photo. Very cute!
